ROUND ONE

COLBY – L. Tomlinson (RB SD) – Position Rank: #11 No, we’re not talking about the next Shaun Alexander, although Colby couldn’t be happy with LT’s performance. That’s what a toe injury does to a RB though. He failed to crack the top ten, which is a big step for the four-time ‘All-Robio’ RB.

GRIFF – Steven Jackson (RB STL) – Position Rank: #20 He had a moment of brilliance. That’s it, one moment. Jackson couldn’t get healthy and the Rams were awful all year long. Tough to make the playoffs when the second pick is only the 20th best RB.

ROBIO – B. Westbrook (RB PHI) KEEPER – Position Rank: #10 He was hurt, he had broken ribs, , bad knee, plus he lives in Philadelphia, yet he was still one of the best backs in the NFL, but only the third best back on my own team.

4. ROB M – Randy Moss (WR NE) – Position Rank: #12 The second Brady went down, you knew Moss’ numbers were in trouble, which means he fit perfectly on a Masterson team.

RICH B – Frank Gore (RB SF) – Position Rank: #15 He looked like a stud early, sitting in the top-five for the first half of the season, but his numbers dipped at the end and Burrier couldn’t rely on him down the stretch.

MOLLY – Clinton Portis (RB WAS) – Position Rank: #7 He was on pace for a 2,000-yard season, and was the top back in fantasy after six weeks, but nagging injuries killed his numbers as he barely managed to stay in the top ten.

ERIC – Larry Fitzgerald (WR ARI) – Position Rank: #1 Hard to imagine he was only the second best receiver on his team, but he was still a stud. We’ll never know if taking Jones-Drew or Michael Turner could have been a difference maker though for Eric.

8. DON – Maurice Jones-Drew (RB JAX)  – Position Rank: #9 He got off to a slow start, but he had some solid 300-point games to help push Don into the playoffs as the 9th best back. He could end up being a decent keeper in 2009, something rare in Robioland’s first round.

BOB – Willie Parker (RB PIT) – Position Rank: #45 For the first two weeks, it looked like Bob made the greatest pick of all-time, proving me wrong yet again. But then Fast Willie became Fragile Willie and Parker sat deep on Bob’s bench behind Jacobs and Johnson, failing to crack the top 40.

DAVID – Julius Jones (RB SEA) – Position Rank: #46 For a month, Jones looked like the greatest pick in league history. after producing a 282-pt game in week two, followed by a 302-point game. He would break 100 only one more time the rest of the season and finished one spot behind Parker.

#11 RICH C- Larry Johnson (RB KC) – Position Rank: #27 I thought this pick would work out, but Johnson was a head case all season long on a bad Chiefs offense. He barely cracked the top thirty.

#12 MATT – Chad Johnson (WR CIN) – Position Rank: #51 Just imagine if he nabbed Michael Turner here instead, but I guess we could ask that question to a lot of teams. Chad’s always been a douche bag, but this time it effective his play. Bust

ROUND TWO

MATT – A. Peterson (RB MIN) KEEPER – Position Rank: #5 He still had a solid year, but for whatever reason, it seemed like a disappointing year. Maybe because he was playing on a bad Matt team, but in reality, he was suppose to be the league’s best player, but he only broke 300 once this year.

RICH C – Jamal Lewis (RB BAL) – Position Rank: #27 Jamal finally looked his age. The defense could have spotted him five yards and he still would have struggled to gain ten yards. He scored 200 once all season.

DAVID – Roy Williams (WR DET) – Position Rank: #67 The experts predicted a down year for Roy, but he still wasn’t too bad while in Detroit. Then he went to Dallas and disappeared, becoming Romo’s 5th option.

BOB – Peyton Manning (QB IND) KEEPER – Position Rank: #4 He wasn’t the same old Manning, but he still was a must-start all year long. More importantly, his numbers improved as the year went on and he crept into the 4th spot among arms.

DON – Terrell Owens (WR DAL) KEEPER – Position Rank: #13 Owens had a couple huge games that probably landed Don a couple of W’s, but in reality he disappeared too often.

ERIC – Willis McGahee (RB BAL) – Position Rank: #44 Bust. Can anyone see Willis being drafted as a starter again in this league? His injury issues probably cost Eric two games and possibly a higher seed.

MOLLY – Laurence Maroney (RB NE) – Position Rank: #108 Speaking of bust. Amazing that a team like Molly’s can have so much success when their second-round pick was this big of a bust. Of course it’s made more painful by the next pick.

RICH B – Michael Turner (RB ATL) – Position Rank: #2 I never want to call a second-round pick a steal, but this one was close. Although Turner didn’t have the same impact Peterson had for Matt last year, he was the only consistently good player on Burrier’s team. Too bad he was often sitting on his bench.

ROB M – Reggie Bush (RB NO) – Position Rank: #32 Oh it looked so good. Bush looked like a stud and Rob looked like a champion-type team, but when Reggie went out, everything fell apart for Masterson.

ROBIO – Andre Johnson (WR HOU) – Position Rank: #2 It was a slow first month, but then Johnson was one of the best receivers ever (well, that might be a little much). He had five 10-catch games just for fun, but crashed in the finals.

GRIFF – Reggie Wayne (WR IND) KEEPER – Position Rank: #9 He was top-five for most of the season, but he really died out at the end, finishing 9th among WR’s. Luckily for Griff, his season was already over.

COLBY – M. Lynch (RB BUF) – Position Rank: #13 Disappointing. That’s really all you can say. He was good, but he never turned into an elite back. He’s still a good keeper heading into 2009 though.

ROUND THREE

COLBY – TJ Houshmandzadeh (WR CIN) – Position Rank: #26 Like every other Bengals player, Housh was a bust, although T.J. was the least-busted of the bunch. Colby traded him late to Burrier, where his one highlight was his 300+ game helping Burrier beat Robio for the second time this season.

GRIFF – Thomas Jones (RB NYJ) – Position Rank: #5 Wow, talk about not seeing a good thing, right before it becomes a good thing. Jones was having a so-so year. In need of a quarterback, Griff traded him to me. After one bad week, Thomas Jones became the AFC’s top rusher and top-five fantasy stud. While Favre didn’t hurt him, it could be one of the worst trades ever, considering how poorly Griff’s back’s played.

ROBIO – Torry Holt (WR STL) – Position Rank: #39 Flop, flop, fizz, fizz. I knew he wouldn’t put up his past numbers, but talk about a collapse. He never sniffed 100 yards receiving and he sat on my bench for the entire second half of the season.

ROB M – Darren McFadden (RB OAK) – Position Rank: #37 Rob made him a practice player and can keep him in the 4th round next year, so we won’t call him a flop or a bust. It’s too early to tell. But with all of Rob’s injury issues, it sure would have been nice to put in a rookie stud back like McFadden. Instead, Darren was often injured on a bad Raiders offense.

RICH B – Plaxico Burress (WR NYG) – Position Rank: #57 Forget the suspension, after recording 133 yards in week one, Plaxico never broke 100 yards again. Then right when you need Plaxico for a late playoffs push, he’s not even in your lineup.

MOLLY – Santonio Holmes (WR PIT) – Position Rank: #33 It was suppose to be a breakout year for Holmes, but he forgot the breakout part. Sure you could start him every now and then, but he couldn’t crack the top thirty in 2008.

ERIC – LeDale White (RB TEN) – Position Rank: #23 Last year he split time, but he was the stud of the two. This year he split time, but he was no longer the star. He was only worthy if he scored, which caused him to not break 80 fantasy points in five games this season.

DON – Rudi Johnson (RB DET) – Position Rank: #102 For the second time in three years, one of Don’s starting running backs disappeared from the roster. Three years ago, it was Dominick Davis going on IR. This season it was Rudi being cut. He reappeared in Detroit and even got the starting nod for a few weeks, but he never earned a spot back in Don’s lineup and a spot in our hearts.

BOB – Anquan Boldin (WR ARI) – Position Rank: #8 One of the best picks in the draft. Coming off an tough ’07 and rough off-season, Boldin lead the league in scoring average by a good 30 points for most of the season, before fading a bit the last month.

DAVID – Tom Brady (QB NE) KEEPER – Position Rank: #55 One quarter, that’s all the league MVP could muster after ripping up his ACL. Trent Edwards subbed in and Dave fell into seven wins, but in reality when Brady went down, so did Dave’s championship dream.

RICH C – Drew Brees (QB NO) KEEPER – Position Rank: #1 After a solid couple years in New Orleans, Drew Brees not only gives Rich his first ‘All-Robio’ player, he lands the 2008 league MVP, leading all players in points.

MATT – Ronnie Brown (RB MIA)  – Position Rank: #17 When the Wildcat offense was brought out, Matt declared that he would have the greatest running back duo for the remainder of the season. Uh, not so much. Brown was decent, but decent keeps you out of the playoffs.

ROUND FOUR

MATT – Carson Palmer (QB CIN) – Position Rank: #38 When you have two players in the first four rounds from one of the worst teams in the league, you know it’s going to be a long season. Palmer played in four games all season long. The last two were decent and gave Matt hope, but then injuries derailed his season.

RICH C – Calvin Johnson (WR DET) – Position Rank: #3 When you think about it, Johnson had a pretty amazing season. His team started five more quarterbacks. Yet, Johnson was a stud almost all season long. He’d be a great keeper on any team, unless you have Drew Brees in round three.

DAVID – Laveranues Coles (WR NYJ) – Position Rank: #31 He ended up being better than Cotchery, which proved me wrong, but he was not worth a starting spot in anyone’s lineup. Coles finished 31st, while Cotchery finished 31st.

BOB – Antonio Gates (TE SD) – Position Rank: #4 He’s no longer the best tight end, but even when he slips, he only slips to 4th among tight ends. Look for a rebound season next year.

DON – Donovan McNabb (QB PHI) – Position Rank: #7 He’s not consistent enough to be great, but he can still give you an occasional 400-point game, making your opponent throw up. His hot finish the last month handed Don his second title (and his first as QB). He finished 7th among QB’s.

ERIC – Steve Smith (WR CAR) – Positon Rank: #5 His two game suspension scared off everyone, but he ended up being a solid pick. He finished the season with the best point-average among receivers.

MOLLY – Jerricho Cotchery (WR NYJ) – Position Rank: #32 For a brief moment, it looked like he was going to have a breakout year, breaking 200 in two of his first four games. However, he never touched 200 again, falling off our radar.

RICH C – Chris Chambers (WR SD) – Position Rank: #59 He had 146 points, followed by a solid 278 points in the first two weeks. Burrier’s team looked unstoppable and we couldn’t kick him off the message board. Chambers proved to be a fraud and was eventually benched by John Mayer.

ROB M – Ben Roethlisberger (QB PIT) – Position Rank: 20 It’s the theme of the round…hot start, falls down the rankings throughout the season. Big Ben came up big early, but struggled to stay on his feet with a shaky O-Line. He actually finished 20th, ten spots behind Rob’s favorite, Pennington.

ROBIO – Tony Gonzalez (TE KC) – Position Rank: #1 He had an awful start. In fact, so awful I couldn’t even trade him away. Luckily for me, no one wanted him. He came up big despite a bad Chiefs QB situation and finished as the #1 tight end by a large margin.

GRIFF – Hines Ward (WR PIT) – Position Rank: #15 He was okay, but not consistent enough. He’d give you a 250-point game one week and follow it up with a 50-point game. At best he was a bye-week fill in.

COLBY – Lee Evans (WR BUF) – Positon Rank: #22 You see everything I wrote above for Hines Ward? Just repeat it here.

ROUND FIVE

COLBY – Chris Cooley (TE WAS) – Position Rank: #9 He was still a top-ten TE, but bounced in and out of Colby’s lineup. This was the case for a lot of tight ends since ’08 was a down year for the big fellas.

GRIFF – Roddy White (WR ATL)  – Position Rank: #9 We all thought with a rookie quarterback, his stats would sink, but Ryan was better than advertised and White’s numbers only improved. He’s one of the best receivers in the game and ended up being one of the best picks in the draft.

ROBIO – Kevin Smith (RB DET) – Position Rank: #19 While he played better down the stretch, cracking the top-20. However, by the end he became a decent #2 back. I didn’t need him though and he sat on my bench. He could still end up being a good keeper next year.

ROB M – Joseph Addai (RB IND) KEEPER – Position Rank: #42 Nagging injuries killed a promising season and wrecked Masterson’s season. He was a shocking 42nd among backs. Didn’t I write this same thing for Rob’s first back?

RICH B – Jeremy Shockey (TE NO) – Position Rank: #25 Is Shockey’s days in fantasy football just about over? A move to New Orleans was suppose to be Shockey’s rejuvenation, but he barely cracked the top-30 among tight ends, yet still sat on Rich’s roster. Wonder why he missed the playoffs.

MOLLY – Chargers (DST SD) – Position Rank: #21 They were suppose to be a top-three defense, but when Merriman went out early, this unit had no shot.

ERIC – Tony Romo (QB DAL) KEEPER – Position Rank: #10 He was the highest rated quarterback, but he missed four weeks, costing Eric two wins. His interceptions and fumbles continue to keep him from elite status in fantasy, ranking 10th overall. Eric can have one more year with him though.

DON – Vikings (DST MIN) – Position Rank: #5 They had their moments, but Don played roto-defense most of the year. They still finished strong, top-five, but they were the highest ranked free agent D at season’s end.

BOB – DeAngelo Williams (RB CAR) – Position Rank: #1 Talk about a bad cut. In reality, Bob really didn’t need him, not with Johnson and Jacobs rolling, but when Jacobs got hurt, Bob could have used DeAngelo’s 300+ games. Instead, I landed him and he led me to the scoring title.

DAVID – Santana Moss (WR WAS) – Position Rank: #16 For the first seven weeks he was a top-ten receiver, breaking 196 points a total of five times. Then the Redskins offense disappeared and so did Moss.

RICH C – Marvin Harrison (WR IND) – Position Rank: #45 Over. If he doesn’t retire, he should. If he does sta

MATT – Joey Galloway (WR TB) – Position Rank: #124 Did he even play this year? Yes, four games. Pointless.

ROUND SIX

MATT – Edgerrin James (RB ARI) – Position Rank: #57 He got benched for a rookie. Can I say anything else? A sad ending for one of the greatest fantasy running backs in Robioland.

RICH C – Jonathan Stewart (RB CAR)  – Position Rank: #28 He had a toe injury, but it had no effect. He was a serviceable back, but was a practice player for Calderon. Too bad, he also drafted Steve Slaton in the same Category, four rounds later.

DAVID – Ernest Graham (RB TB) KEEPER – Position Rank: #44 He appeared to be the one player who started off hot on Dave’s team, to not fall apart midway though. I was wrong, he got injured and went out late in the season, finishing 44th.

BOB – Vincent Jackson (WR SD) – Position Rank: #10 Here’s a stat for you. Jackson finished as a top-ten receiver, but only had two games over 200 points in a game (he actually broke 300 in both).

DON – Todd Heap (TE BAL) – Position Rank: #23 When will people stop drafting this guy? Don’t get me wrong, I can see why one would. He had a rookie quarterback and rookie QB’s. are suppose to love them some tight ends, but Heap hasn’t been a star in years.

ERIC – Selvin Young (RB DEN) KEEPER – Position Rank: #103 He guaranteed a 2,000-yard season. He came up just short; 1,713 yards short. He didn’t even crack the top one-hundred among running backs.

MOLLY – Matt Forte (RB CHI) – Position Rank: #3 Rookie backs like Chris Johnson, James Stewart and Steve Slaton certainly had more flashier years, but no rookie produced more fantasy points. Forte became the second ‘All-Robio’ rookie ever.

RICH B – Donald Driver (WR GB) – Position Rank: #25 He finished in the top thirty, which is actually better than I thought he’d do, but his days as a starter are long gone.

ROB M – Ray Rice (RB BAL) – Position Rank: #50 Masterson was right to think McGahee would falter and a rookie back would step up and fill the void. Too bad he didn’t realize it was LeRon McClain.

ROBIO – R. Mendenhall (RB PIT) – Position Rank: #114 He started in week three and his season ended in less than a quarter. What kills me is that I was deciding between him and Kevin Smith in the last round. I took Smith in the Category one, when I really wished I had him here in Category Two.

GRIFF – Ryan Grant (RB GB) KEEPER – Position Rank: #23 Yep, he was a one-hit wonder. He held out and got his contract. A lot of good it did Griff, who really appreciated his three 200+ games this season. Best non-trade of the year? I actually asked for Grant when I traded Favre, but Griff wouldn’t give him up, so I settled for Thomas Jones.

COLBY – Nate Burleson (WR SEA) – Position Rank: #136 On September 7th he had five catches, 60 yards and a touchdown. That’s it…for the whole season.

ROUND SEVEN

COLBY – Steelers (DST PIT) – Position Rank: #1 Life is good when you land the top defense in the 7th round. A blessing for Colby, who has suffered throughout the years trying to land a solid roto-defense.

GRIFF – Seahawks (DST SEA) – Position Rank: #28 While Colby landed the top defense one pick earlier, Griff nabbed the 28th best defense. Guess who made the playoffs? The Hawks were cut quickly and never picked up.

ROBIO – Ricky Williams (RB MIA) – Position Rank: #36 Over the years I’ve done a good job landing star players in Category One, but I have really failed to land any mid-level sleepers. Williams never point up fantasy-worthy points. He was cut quickly, and picked up here and there.

ROB M – Vernon Davis (TE SF) – Position Rank: #27 His coach called him soft and in Robioland, the term fits like a glove. Busted.

RICH C – Patriots (DST NE) – Position Rank: #18 Burrier was second-to-last in free agent pick ups this season. One place he could have maybe pulled a couple pick ups is on defense.

MOLLY – M. Colston (WR NO) Keeper – Position Rank: #42 He was so good as a rookie, but his numbers have fallen two straight years. This year injuries dropped him as a legit starter in fantasy, as the Saints shared the ball around too much for him once he came back.

ERIC – Jaguars (DST JAX) – Position Rank: #23 The Jaguars fell apart this year and you can thank their defense. The Jax’s D are usually good for a top-eight defense, but not this year.

DON – Stephan Gostkowski (PK NE) – Position Rank: #1 Was he worth it? You know what I think. Yes, having the best kicker is a good thing, but its so rare the best kicker is the same as the first kicker taken, you’re taking a big risk taking one too early. For the record, he finished first.

BOB – Chris Johnson (RB TEN) – Position Rank: #8 Super stud. Just imagine what he could do if he didn’t have to share the ball with LeDale White. Bob had Jacobs sitting in the ninth the last two years, but now he’ll have Johnson for the next two.

DAVID – Jerious Norwood (RB ATL) – Position Rank: #38 I never could figure out why he selected Norwood. Turner was the starter and there was little reason to believe Norwood could step up and be a player.

RICH C – Giants (DST NYG) – Position Rank: #6 A lot of D’s got drafted ahead of the G-Men, but only five finished ahead of them this year, even after a slight fall off late in the season.

MATT – Fred Taylor (RB JAC) KEEPER – Position Rank: #55 What happened to him? He got hurt and I didn’t even realize he was gone.

ROUND EIGHT

MATT – Alge Crumpler (TE TEN) – Position Rank: #33 I get the thinking process, a former solid tight end, coming off a bad year on a bad team, joins a new club and re-discovers the magic. I get it. Too bad Crumpler didn’t get the message.

RICH C – Dwayne Bowe (WR KC) KEEPER – Position Rank: #19 The quarterback play was too bad to allow Bowe to be a #1 receiver. Next year could be the year he finally makes that step up if Thigpen continues to improve.

DAVID – Bears (DST CHI) – Position Rank: #9 They struggled. at times, but had some great moments too, finishing in the top ten, but why does that seem to be a disappointing for the Bears?

BOB – DeSean Jackson (WR PHI) – Position Rank: #28 He had some great plays and a few good moments, but you have to consider it a weak spot knowing that Jackson was in Bob’s starting lineup. He was a low-end #2 at best.

DON – Chester Taylor (RB MIN) – Position Rank: #33 Nothing wrong with expecting Peterson to get hurt. He struggled with health his whole career dating back to college. However, AP stayed upright and Taylor never made an impact.

ERIC – Donte Stallworth (WR CLE) – Position Rank: #113 So far, in his entire career, Stallworth has had one good half of a season for the Eagles two years ago. That’s it.

MOLLY – Jay Cutler (QB DEN) – Position Rank: #2 He was putting up Tom Brady liked numbers, but slowly dipped as the season went on. He still finished 2nd among quarterbacks and was a great pick in the middle of the 8th. Not quite a sleeper, but certainly a steal.

RICH B – Eli Manning (QB NYG) – Position Rank: #13 Like season’s past, when the weather got cold, so did Eli. Maybe it was the loss of Plaxico, maybe it was Jacobs’ injury, but in the end, he was a decent quarterback for Rich, who felt good enough about him to trade Rivers.

ROB M- Brett Favre (QB NYJ) – Position Rank: #16 He was excited to have a reason to grab a Jet quarterback, but quickly realized he couldn’t afford him. Favre’s legacy in 2009? He was traded away for Thomas Jones, the man who would become one of the best backs of ’09. Brett finished 16th.

ROBIO – B. Berrian (WR MIN) KEEPER – Position Rank: #21 He did nothing with Jackson as quarterback, so I cut him. I’m so smart. Then Gus came in and Berrian looked like a low-end #1 receiver. Yep, so smart. He settled as a back end #2 WR.

GRIFF – Matt Schaub (QB HOU) – Position Rank: #22 Talk about, if only. After a slow start, Schaub put up some solid numbers, but then he got hurt. He came back and put up great numbers again, but then got hurt. If he could have stayed healthy all year long, Griff maybe could have been a playoff-type team.

COLBY – D. Anderson (QB CLE) KEEPER – Position Rank: #31 Wow, Calderon was right on this one. Anderson was a tremendous bust. Colby cut him pretty quickly and played roto-quarterback, unable to land a solid star.

ROUND NINE

COLBY – Felix Jones (RB DAL) – Position Rank: #64 He had some big runs, even if the Cowboys didn’t use him enough. However, he ended up hurt. Despite the injury, he looks to have a solid career ahead of him.

GRIFF – Eddie Royal (WR DEN) – Position Rank: #18 He had that one big game in week two, but his numbers fell when Marshall returned. However, that game was so big, he had to stay on Griff’s roster. A strong finish at the end, put Royal in the top twenty, making him a possible starter next year.

ROBIO – Colts (DST IND) – Position Rank: #13 They cracked the top ten, which is amazing considering how bad they were early on.

ROB M – B. Edwards (WR CLE) KEEPER – Position Rank: #27 The only reason I can’t call him one of the biggest busts ever is because he got him in the 9th round. However, he was suppose to be a top-three wide receiver and he certainly wasn’t.

RICH B – M. Barber (RB DAL) KEEPER – Position Rank: #15 Barber finally got the start the last season Rich got to keep him, and at first he was dominating. Rich in fact had the top three backs with Gore, Turner and Barber. However, Barber got hurt and sank out of the top ten.

MOLLY – Ahmad Bradshaw (RB NYG) – Position Rank: #63 Tough to expect anything from a third-string back, even if he is the best third-string back in football.

ERIC – James Hardy (WR BUF) – Position Rank: #22 He had a great pre-season, so he was worth a late grab. He had a quiet, but nice season in Buffalo, landing in the top twenty-five.

DON – Greg Jennings (WR GB) KEEPER – Position Rank: #6 It is keepers like these that hand people titles. It’s easier to overcome a Rudi Johnson when you have an elite receiver in the ninth round.

BOB – Jabar Gaffney (WR HOU) – Position Ranked: #62 Too many better options in the New England offense. The former Gator has no business being on a fantasy roster.

DAVID – Leon Washington (RB NYJ) – Position Rank: #34 Leon’s good, but Thomas is the starter, there’s little Washington can do as a starter in fantasy. Just check out Dave’s win totals when he had Leon starting.

RICH C – Greg Olsen (TE CHI) – Position Rank: #11 Rich benched him, cut him, picked him back up, started him and benched him. I thought Olsen would take a big step forward and be a key sleeper, but he still is average at best at #11. Not bad, not great.

MATT – Javon Walker (WR OAK) – Position Rank: #102 You know it’s a bad pick when the guy can’t even break the top-100 in his own position.

ROUND TEN

MATT – Aaron Rogers (QB GB) – Position Rank: #5 Neck-to-neck the best sleeper pick with Steve Slaton. We’ll only give it to Slaton only because he actually helped Rich win some games this year. Rogers, finished 5th (11 spots ahead of Favre) and will end up a solid keeper for two more years. I can’t believe Matt was trying to unload him earlier this year.

RICH C – Steve Slaton (RB HOU) – Position Rank: #6 My vote for best late-round sleeper. Technically that’s not a real award for that. Maybe we need to make one. Slaton was one of the best backs in football and will be a great keeper for the next two years.

DAVID – Bills (DST BUF) – Position Rank: #17 Seriously, I can just write the same thing about every David player…hot start, wicked bad finish.

BOB – B. Jacobs (RB NYG) KEEPER – Position Rank: #12 Considering how many carries he gives away to Ward and Bradshaw and the knee injury issues, he still had a solid year, nearly crashing the top ten.

DON – Deuce McAllister (RB NO) – Position Rank: #53 He was coming off a decent year, but he was injured and guess what, he was on steroids. A good mix.

DON – Dominic Rhodes (RB IND) – Position Rank: #25 I didn’t even know he went back to the Colts. Yet he actually finished ahead of Joseph Addai. However, neither was worth a start on any fantasy team.

MOLLY – Jon Kitna (QB DET) – Position Rank: #39 Look on the bright side, at least Molly didn’t waste a high pick on him. He got hurt, but do we get to blame God now?

RICH B – Ted Ginn Jr. (WR MIA) – Position Rank: #35 Nope, not ready for prime time yet.

ROB M – Reggie Williams (WR JAX) – Position Rank: #71 Yeah, we’ll just forget this one ever happened.

ROBIO – Matt Hasselback (QB SEA) – Position Rank: #36 I thought I could pull a fast one, hoping he would get healthy and be what he has always has been. He never got healthy and turned into a wasted pick.

GRIFF – Justin Fargas (RB OAK) – Position Ranked: #41 He’s a good back, but he’s on a shitty team and when McFadden was healthy (which was rare), Fargas lost his starting spot.

COLBY – M. Muhammad (WR CAR) – Position Rank: #30 Remember when he was the best receiver for one season on Carolina. If you do, you’ll remember it was the year Steve Smith went out for the season. Well, Smith was healthy this year and Muhammad remained a second-class back.

ROUND ELEVEN

COLBY – David Garrard (QB JAX) – Position Rank: #14 His stats weren’t awful (ranked 14th) and he actually started for Griff down the stretch, but in his second year as starter, expectations were higher for this preseason sleeper.

GRIFF – Nick Folk (PK DAL) – Position Rank: #21 The first kicker taken finished first. The second kicker taken (Folk), finished 21st. That’s kickers for you. Griff cut him and finished with Jason Elam.

ROBIO – Devin Hester (WR CHI) – Position Rank: #48 I don’t consider myself a Dallas Cowboys-homer picker. However, I do have a habit of taking former-Hurricanes a lot.

ROB M – B. Marshall (WR DEN) KEEPER – Position Rank: #11 He flew out of the gate after his suspension and you have to believe Rob was happy, just for a brief moment. Then his numbers sank, Rob lost all his backs and Marshall could make up for the lost numbers.

RICH B – Patrick Crayton (WR DAL) – Position Rank: #50 He was suppose to be the starter opposite Owens, but then they brought in Williams, moving back Crayton to third-string, killing any chances of having any fantasy values.

MOLLY – Bryant Johnson (WR SF) – Position Rank: #56 The 49ers were ready to make the leap forward and someone had to be their number one receiver. Too bad it wasn’t Johnson, as Issac Bruce reappeared from his career comma.

ERIC – Buccaneers (DST TB) – Position Rank: #7 A solid defense all season long, up until playoff time and they couldn’t stop Eric’s mother. This one ended up hurting, especially their awful game in the quarterfinals, that knocked Lil’ E from the post-season.

DON – Sidney Rice (WR MIN) – Position Rank: #99 Remember this guy was suppose to replace Randy Moss? Dumb asses.

BOB – Packers DST (GB) – Position Ranked: #14 The Packers were a solid D last year, but they fell off this season. You could trust them if the right match up came up, but that’s about it.

DAVID – Tarvaris Jackson (QB MIN) – Position Rank: #34 And that didn’t workout so well. When you’re replaced by a guy name Gus, you know you’re doing something wrong. I picked him up to start in the title game, but didn’t have the nuggets to put him in.

RICH C – Kevin Curtis (WR PHI) – Position Rank: #73 The great white hope came off IR and had one amazing game. One.

MATT – Jerry Porter (WR JAX) – Position Rank: #104 It’s hard to draft two receivers who both finished out of the top-100, but Matt found a way to do it. At least him grabbed a top-five quarterback in-between.

ROUND TWELVE

MATT – Eagles (DST PHI) – Position Rank: #4 Matt’s last four picks; the 103rd ranked WR, 5th best QB, 104 ranked WR, followed by the 4th best defense.

RICH C – A. Gonzalez (WR IND) KEEPER – Position Rank: #43 He can’t make the step forward as long as Harrison sits in one of the starting spots. Just go away, Marvin, go away.

DAVID – Tony Scheffler (TE DEN) – Position Rank: #10 Like every Dave player he had a solid first few weeks, but was barely putting up any numbers late in the season.

BOB – Chris Henry (WR CIN) – Position Rank: #98 Why not take a chance I guess, but he never worked out.

DON – Marc Bulger (QB STL) – Position Rank: #27 The Rams sucked, the offensive line suck, and Bulger really sucked, ranked 27th. Shocking to see Warner finish runner up as MVP in 2008, six years removed from being replaced by Bulger in St. Louis.

ERIC – L. Robinson (WR ATL) – Position Rank: #146 The odds of landing a stud rookie receiver are long. This year, DeSean Jackson was the best of the bunch. Robinson? He was the worst.

MOLLY – Dustin Keller (TE NYJ) – Position Rank: #14 He had a rough start, but really gathered steam at the end. However, Molly didn’t have the patience to wait for him. Rob picked him up, as he finished 14th. Next year though, he could be a top-six tight end.

RICH C – Ben Watson (TE NE) – Position Rank: #35 Dear God Rich, please stop drafted him. Stop wasting a draft pick. He failed to crack the top-30.

ROB M – Jake Delhomme (QB CAR) – Position Rank: #118 He had four good games in the middle of the season, but if you were starting him every week, you’d be in trouble. Rob started him a little, so what’s that say? He ranked 18th.

ROBIO – Cowboys (DST DAL) KEEPER – Position Rank: #8 They were too expensive for me to keep while they struggled, but Don had the cash to spend and picked them up right when they got hot. In fact, for a five week period at the end, they were the top fantasy defense, leading Don to a title.

GRIFF – Saints (DST NO) – Position Rank: #24 Have the Saints ever been a good defense? Seriously, I’m asking.

COLBY – Tatum Bell (RB DET) – Position Rank: #84 Although he wasn’t drafted to be a stud or even a starter, but Tatum has to be one of the biggest career-busts at running back.

ROUND THIRTEEN

COLBY – Reg Brown (WR PHI) KEEPER – Position Rank: #95 Tatum Bell, followed by Reggie Brown. Talk about throwing away back-to-back picks.

GRIFF – Jason Witten (TE DAL) KEEPER – Position Rank: #2 He was the top tight end at the halfway mark, but he broke his rib, Romo went down and his numbers dipped. However, he still ended up the #2 tight end in football.

ROBIO – Andre Hall (RB DEN) – Position Rank: #96 Rob Masterson actually made this pick, trading me the rights to Brett Favre a few rounds earlier. The Broncos running back committee was muddled like it has been for years. When will we ever learn? When!

ROB M – Jets (DST NYJ) – Position Rank: #10 Z A homer pick that actually wasn’t too bad. Too bad Rob grabbed the number one defense (Titans) prior to the draft, so he never needed his Jets.

RICH B – Sammy Morris (RB NE) – Position Rank: #34 With Maroney’s injury, Morris could have been an excellent late-round keeper. However, Sammy couldn’t stay healthy himself and he had no value.

MOLLY – D. Clark (TE IND) KEEPER – Position Rank: #3 He came on strong down the stretch, padding his numbers after Molly was already eliminated from the post-season.

ERIC – Kellen Winslow (TE CLE) – Position Rank: #21 He got hurt and the just like that one of the league’s top sleeper picks from a year ago fell off the radar and out of the top twenty among tight ends. He wrapped up ’08 as the 21st best tight end.

DON – Issac Bruce (WR SF) – Position Rank: #24 Was he great? Nope. However, Bruce may be one of the top reasons why Don made the playoffs. Don never found a second back, but Bruce was a solid third-receiver.

BOB – Derrick Mason (WR BAL) – Position Rank: #20 He has a heart, we’ll give him that, and he was a decent start from week-to-week, but in reality he remained a free agent for most of the season.

DAVID – O. Daniels (TE HOU) KEEPER – Postion Rank: #5 He was the lone bright spot on Dave’s team. He had a breakout season, cracking the top five. However, if you’re tight end’s stats are your team’s highlight for the season, then you might not have a good team.

RICH C – Adam Vinatieri (PK IND) – Position Rank: #26 Now this is where kickers should be taken. Vinatieri bombed, finishing 26th. He finished the season as a free agent, while Rich finished with Crosby.

MATT – Wes Welker (WR NE) KEEPER – Position Rank: #14 It’s pretty amazing that a player can have over 100 catches and not crack the top-ten among receivers.

ROUND FOURTEEN

MATT – Josh Brown (PK STL) – Position Rank: #8 He finished 8th, second best free agent kicker. Matt actually improved by picking up Ryan Longwell though.

RICH C – Kevin Jones (RB CHI) – Position Rank: #101 I understand the pick. What were the odds of a rookie back really keeping his starting job? The Bears didn’t bring in Jones for nothing, right? Wrong, he never got any playing time.

DAVID – D.J. Hackett (WR CAR) – Position Rank: #126 Injuries killed his season and he never got any solid playing time.

BOB – Matt Leinart (QB ARI) – Position Rank: #52 Not a bad pick. Deep in the draft, expecting Kurt Warner to go down, then Matt would step in and finally become the elite quarterback he was suppose to be. He never sniffed the starting lineup. He played in the second half of one game, fumbled once and threw one interception.

DON – Brandon Jackson (RB GB) – Position Rank: #60 There were times when it appeared that Jackson would be the better back in Green Bay. He got some carries, but was never able to knock Grant out of the way.

ERIC – Shayne Graham (PK CIN) – Position Rank: #30 The Bengals were one of the worst offenses and couldn’t even manage field goals. Graham was cut and finished 30th.

MOLLY – Raiders (DST OAK) – Position Rank: #22 Nope. Cut quickly.

RICH B – Phil Dawson (PK CLE) – Position Rank: #15 He finished 15th among kickers and was rarity. He finished on the team that actually drafted him.

ROB M – Devin Thomas (WR WAS) – Position Rank: #108 The Redskins receivers sucked (except for Moss), but Thomas could never replace them.

ROBIO – Matt Ryan (QB ATL) – Position Rank: #13 Could end up being my best Category Three pick ever. He never played, sitting as my Development player, but he had a stunning great year for a rookie, finishing 13th among arms. The question is, can I rely on him to be a starter for me next year. If the answer is yes, then I’m golden.

GRIFF – Chad Pennington (QB MIA) – Position Rank: #11 He wasn’t bad, although he never started for Griff. He actually had a month this season where he scored three 300+ point games and a 250-point game. Not bad,

COLBY – Robbie Gould (PK CHI) – Position Rank: #14 Good things were expected, but the Bears offense actually did better than expected. He ranked 14th, but Colby finished with David Akers.

ROUND FIFTEEN

COLBY – Ahman Green (RB HOU) – Position Rank: #65 Like James, he was replaced by a rookie and barely saw any action.

GRIFF – Brian Leonard (RB STL) – Position Rank: #153 Griff always takes the backups of his starters. Always.

ROBIO – Lawrence Tynes (PK NYG) – Position Rank: #37 Bust. By the time he got healthy, a 85-yard-old Carney had taken his spot. I did manage to grab Bironas, who finished 2nd among kickers.

ROB M – Mason Crosby (PK GB) – Position Rank: #12 He started off nicely, with a couple 130-point games, but he faded away, got cut and finished the season 12th among kickers, with Calderon.

RICH B – Philip Rivers (QB SD) KEEPER – Position Rank: #3 The Chargers sucked, but Rivers was a star in fantasy land. Colby landed him for a late playoff push.

MOLLY – Josh Scobee (PK JAX) – Position Rank: #27 One of the worst kickers in fantasy, finishing 27th and as a free agent. Molly picked up local favorite Matt Bryant to finish the season.

ERIC – Kevin Boss (TE NYG) – Position Rank: #15 He actually started a couple games for Rich (after Eric cut him) and he produced a couple 100-point fantasy games, but he’ll probably need another year under his belt. He finished up 15th best tight end.

DON – Kevin Walter (WR HOU) – Position Rank: #17 He had some big catches, but he never cracked anyone’s starting lineup.

BOB – J. Russell (QB OAK) KEEPER – Position Rank: #26 Man, he sucks.

DAVID – Kris Brown (PK HOU) – Position Rank: #6 Shocking, another draft pick by David, that didn’t get cut. This one actually deserved a roster spot. He finished 6th.

RICH C – Cardinals (DST ARI) – Position Rank: #16 Man, they didn’t suck. That’s weird to say.

MATT – Heath Miller (TE PIT) – Position Rank: #18 He was another late taken tight end who was suppose to have a breakout year and be an elite tight end. He was a bust, finishing 18th, but if you’re going to have a bust, it might as well be the last pick in the draft.

TOP-10 FREE AGENT PICKS

1. DeAngelo Williams. week six ($26) I clearly landed the top four free agent pick ups of 2008. The strategy was simple, I was going to spend all my money quickly and hope for the best. In week six, with Westbrook out and Buckhalter taken, I needed a second back. Luckily for me, Bob cut DeAngelo in week five. I grabbed him and only became the #1 back in fantasy football.

2. Kurt Warner, week two, ($0) Griff had picked up Warner prior to the season, but cut him after one week. I quickly stepped in and grabbed the aging quarterback. He was the number two quarterback up until the title game.

3. Ravens Defense, week two ($9) While I had a couple good D’s heading into the season, the Cowboys were costing me a top dollar $17 against my cap. I picked up the Ravens for much less. They finished 2nd among backs.

4. Antonio Bryant, week eight (0) The one player no one had faith in, despite his numbers. He was picked up by Calderon after week one, but was dropped a week later. Matt picked him up a few weeks later, but was cut for Steve Smith in week seven. I grabbed him a week later and he was a stud down the stretch. He finished 7th among receivers.

5. Bernard Berrian, week four ($1) He did nothing with Jackson at quarterback. Too bad I didn’t wait for Gus. Colby nabbed him and had a top-fifteen type receiver the last half of the season. He finished 21st among receivers after it was all said and done.

6. Titans Defense, week one ($2) Yet another reason why you don’t waste high picks on defense. It’s nothing but a crap shoot. Rob snagged up the top defense just prior to the start of the season. They started all year for the man.

7. Tim Hightower, week nine ($5) His final stats weren’t impressive. He only ranked 35th. He had only one 200-point game and two 100-point game. However, by next season the Cardinals will learn to run the ball and Hightower will be a great keeper in 2009.

8. David Garrard, week seven ($3) Sure he wasn’t great, but after the Derek Anderson fiasco, Colby needed a steady hand at quarterback to lead his ship. Garrard did a decent job, holding down the fort.

9. Cowboys Defense, week eight ($0) Sometimes the key to a pick up is nailing it right at the right time. As Don made a late push for the playoffs, the Cowboys D scored five straight games over 196 points, making them a top defense.

10. Lance Moore, week five ($15) He was really only good for four weeks, but the four weeks were that good, producing four straight 200+ games. He could be a solid keeper next year.

10. D. Hixon, week five & thirteen ($0) He was just a one-hit wonder in week five. I picked up Hixon, Molly grabbed Toomer. Hixon blew up and handed me a win over Molly that week. Assuming Plaxico is done, Hixon could be Manning’s top target in ’09.
